The loop passes through a variety of vegetation levels, from Mediterranean to alpine beech and fir, passing through black pine and Scots pine forests, as well as a vast oak forest.

Guidebook with maps/step-by-step
1/ From "Place de la Gare" (alt. 375m), cross the bridge into the center of Dieulefit. From "Place Châteauras" (alt. 380m), turn left into "Rue du Bourg" and walk up to the tourist office. Turn left, cross the Jabron bridge and, on the right, cross the Place du Champ-de-Mars. Continue up the montée du Jas.
2/ Cross the D538 and continue straight ahead towards Les Vitrouillères.
3/ At the "Les Graves" crossroads (alt. 488m), turn right off the GRP and follow the PR (yellow) signs.
4/ At the "Les Réservoirs" crossroads (alt. 517m), turn right to reach the "Les 4 chemins" crossroads (alt. 544m).
5/ Continue along the forest road. At the Pisseconin bend, leave the forest road and take the small path around the bend. Join a forest track and continue along it to the right. At La Peyrière, take the path that climbs straight up the slope to reach "La Faine" (alt. 710m).
6/ From here, you can shorten the itinerary by about 30 minutes by turning left towards Le Virage. Alternatively, go straight on, then take the forest road uphill to reach "Saint Jaume" (alt. 844m), the highest point on the route.
7/ Leave the forest road and take the downhill path around the bend. Pass "Le Virage" (alt. 674m) and come out again at the "Les 4 chemins" crossroads (alt. 544m). Take the forest road to the right. Return to Dieulefit via the same road as at the start of the route.
