In the Dieulefit-Bourdeaux District you will discover many craftspeople, potters and ceramists whose skills have benefited from a long tradition. Today they use their accumulated know-how to fashion original creations.
Ceramics have been part of everyday life since Roman times here. Domestic originally, the ceramic industry had its golden age during the 19th century industrial revolution. Not before the 20th century did it acquire an ‘art status’.

Nowadays, our Dieulefit-Bourdeaux District is home to around 41 workshops of potters and ceramists – amongst other artisans and artists who have chosen this region to develop their talents. The Dieulefit-Bourdeaux District is renowned as an important centre for ceramics, and was given the award of “Pôle d’Excellence Rurale” (Crafts Rural Excellence).
